Purpose: We aimed to evaluate negative impact on academic performance of University students in Kinshasa associated statics ametropia our setting. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed the Department Ophthalmology Hospital from January June 2022. The Faculties, department and audience were taken carry out a survey three-stage probability sampling technique while enrolled register’s presence space four names (k = 4). have been ophthalmologic exam systematically visual acuity (Monoyer Ladder), slit lamp, fund ophthalmoscopy automatic refractometer KR-920Top Con determine ametropia. Academic classified this ways: poor (40% - 49%), passable (50% 59%), fairly (60% 69%), good (70% 79%), very (80% 89%) excellent (90% 99%). Sociodemographic clinical data recorded study. Data enrigestred Excel software. used SPSS version 20.0 for statistical analysis Chi-square compare proportion. Univariate multivariate analyses test association between environmental factors. p-value inferior 0.05 or equal considered significant. Results: total 600 examined. Their age ranged 18 56 years mean ± SD 24.6 7.1 years. Sex ratio 1.2. main complaints difficulty watch black board 30.3%, photophobia 14.6%, blurred vision 14%, tired 12.1%, headache 7.8%, ocular eyes, tearing eyes 4.3%, low 4.1%, prickling 2.6%, vertigo 2.3%, itchy 2.1% red 1.3%. Myopia represented 36.6%, Hypermetropia 19.8%, Simple Astigmatism myopia 8.8%, Compose 6.5%, Mix astigmatism 3.1% spherical anisometropia 1.8%.
